Pixar's Senior Scientist explains how math makes the movies and games we love
Let me start off by saying; "No!" I knew math would back to bite me in the butt one of these days. Darn. Okay moving on. (1)So DeRose of Pixar, (so we know this guy is good) is explaining how they use math in the Pixar movies. (2)Like how in Brave they had to come up with a whole new way to make Merida's hair, they had to recreate a whole new "physics engine" to create her bouncy fire-red hair. (3) They first applied math to make it better in Geri's Game. First, I love Geri's Game; that is the one I remember most out of the Pixar shorts I have seen. Secondly, I did not know that much math went into such a simple short. And for my question; is it ironic I am doing the Math-O-Vision Competition and this article shows up?
